Bowen Specialist Centre

Bowen has a wide variety of specialists consulting on the campus. Many are surgeons who also operate at the hospital. However we do have physicians consulting providing an extensive range of specialties. Please refer to the specialist listing.

Car Parking

Ample free parking is provided within our hospital grounds. Please note that Bowen Hospital accepts no responsibility for car security.

Day Stay Unit

We have a 12 bed day stay unit situated at the rear of the hospital. If your surgeon has booked you for day surgery you may be taken to this unit on your arrival. Your relatives are welcome to spend the time with you throughout your stay.

Gardens

Our hospital is set in landscaped grounds, featuring attractive gardens and many native trees, which you and your visitors are welcome to enjoy.

Gastroenterology Unit

The unit comprises a waiting area, a consulting room, a single procedure room and 3 bed recovery area. The unit is fully staffed by experienced gastroenterology staff. Technical equipment is updated and well maintained. The practitioners are all highly skilled and experienced endoscopists.

The unit is also the location of a weekly Pain Clinic managed by an experienced anaesthetist with specialist skills.

Operating Theatre

The operating suite, which is fully equipped to meet the requirements of modern surgery, comprises three theatres and a seven-bed recovery unit.

Patients' Rooms

We endeavour to give our patients a choice of room to suit their needs. Irrespective of your choice, you will receive the same high standard of nursing care.

Overnight patients have a choice (subject to availability and depending on your operation) of a private room with ensuite bathroom, a single room with a shared bathroom or a shared room with shared facilities. All patients’ rooms have private TV (Sky), radio and telephone, and a complimentary copy of the daily newspaper is provided.

Smoke-free site

A smoke-free policy applies throughout the hospital.
