Ausha is an experienced Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, working as part of the Complete Gynaecology group. He has a special interest in advanced endoscopic (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) surgery and complex abdominal surgery. Having completed specialist training in the UK, Ausha served as a consultant in the NHS prior to his move to Wellington in 2018. He has completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Women’s and Children’s hospital Adelaide, Australia, awarded to him by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. At present, he is a Consultant at Hutt Valley DHB and is also the clinical lead for gynaecology.

Ausha is passionate about medical education and training the next generation of young doctors. As well as currently teaching as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago, Wellington, Ausha has also served as an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Aberdeen, UK. He is also a member of the board of assessors of Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and an accredited training supervisor of the postgraduate trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Ausha’s practice excludes colposcopy. Ausha also provides private Obstetric care through his work as part of the Complete Obstetrics team. He lives locally in Ngaio with his wife and two daughters.
