Ben is a graduate of the University of Otago (Dunedin and Wellington) and completed his advanced training in gastroenterology in the Auckland and Waikato regions. He then undertook a fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, UK, before returning to work as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Wellington Hospital, Wakefield Hospital, and Bowen Hospital.
Ben provides friendly, patient focused assessment and management of a broad range of gastroenterological and liver conditions and offers diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures. He has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease and is involved in conducting clinical trials in this area.
