Dr Foo is a Southern Cross Affiliated Provider for: Cataract surgery, chalazion or tarsal cyst removal, consultations and assessments, fundus photography, intravitreal injections, laser iridoplasty, laser iridotomy, laser trabeculoplasty, macular laser, minor eyelid surgery, optic disc photos, optical coherence tomography (OCT), photocoagulation of the retina or pan retinal laser, pterygium or pinguecula surgery, punctal plug or enlargement, retinal photography, syringing of tear ducts or lacrimal probe, three snip punctoplasty, visual field tests, YAG laser capsulotomy.

Specialist training

Dr Foo obtained his medical degree at the University of Otago and Retinal Fellowships in Melbourne and Manchester, UK.

About Kolin Foo

Dr Foo has special interest in the areas of micro-incisional cataract surgery and treatment of retinal disease. He was the first person to introduce photodynamic therapy (PDT) to Wellington for the treatment of macular degeneration. He use the most up-to-date and effective medical and surgical treatments for macular degeneration and other retinal disorders.

He currently works as a consultant ophthalmologist and a senior lecturer at Wellington Hospital and consults privately from The Terrace Eye Centre.
